Due to continued business growth, we are now seeking a Internal Sales Assistant to join our team at Hindley Green, Wigan. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a busy sales environment, and is driven to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of our branch team, you will:

  • Engage with trade customers—providing advice, answering queries, and ensuring every caller receives a first‑class service.
  • Drive sales performance by identifying customer needs, recommending suitable products, and promoting add‑on or alternative solutions.
  • Proactively follow up on enquiries and quotations to maximise sales opportunities and build lasting customer relationships.
  • Work to agreed sales targets and KPI benchmarks, ensuring personal and branch performance is consistently strong.
  • Use a computerised stock and sales system to process orders, check availability, and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Handle transactions professionally and accurately.
  • Stay up to date with product knowledge, market trends, and promotions to enhance the customer experience.
  • Support general branch operations, ensuring the office is organised, energised, and efficient.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a internal sales or customer service function
  • A confident communicator with a strong customer‑first mindset
  • Motivated and target‑driven, with the ability to work towards KPIs
  • A team player who can also work independently when required
  • Knowledge of timber or a willingness to learn
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in order processing in an ERP system
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a passion for delivering excellent service
