Still proudly family-owned, our story began in 1946 when Bob Haldane opened our first branch in the heart of Newry. From those humble beginnings, we’ve grown to 22 branches across the UK, employing over 700 talented people each one playing a vital role in shaping who we are today. Many of our team members have been with us for decades, reflecting our strong culture of loyalty, respect, and opportunity.
We’re more than just a builders’ and plumbers’ merchant. We supply everything from building materials, plumbing and heating, and home improvement products to internal finishes such as architectural ironmongery, bathrooms, doors, and flooring. As a Group, we also import timber and timber products and are a leading manufacturer of machined timber, engineered roofing, and flooring solutions across Ireland.
What truly sets us apart is our people-first culture. We believe in growing our own talent, and many of our current Directors and Senior Managers began their careers right here progressing through dedication, hard work, and passion for what they do.
