Starting from modest roots as a yard operative in 2017, Haldane Fisher has provided me with countless opportunities, devloping my knowledge of the industry.Now as a Trainee Manager Haldane Fisher are offering me the foundations of a long prospeerous career within the group.​

I joined the company in 2021 as a Yard Operative, growing my knowledge of the building trade from the ground up. I was soon given the opportunity to join the Stock Control team, and in January 2023 I became Stock controller for Plumbmaster Newry. I’ve embraced every learning opportunity across different areas of the business, gaining valuable insights and experience that have helped me refine my skills and define the career path I want to pursue.

My career at Garstang started on the trade counter 10 years ago with a passion to learn and grow. Since then, I’ve worked my way through internal sales and now proudly serve as an Assistant Branch Manager. Every day at Haldane Fisher Timber and Building Supplies is fast-moving and full of opportunities — no two days are ever the same. What I love most is being part of a team that supports your ambition and gives you the tools to do it.

After almost six years with Haldane Fisher Timber and Building Supplies, I’ve gone from working on the ground in Northern Ireland within our Bathline Brand to a group commercial role covering England and the Isle of Man and I couldn’t have done it without the people here. There’s a real sense of teamwork and trust. The company encourages you to step up, try new things, and keeps pushing you to grow. It’s more than just a workplace, it’s a team that’s proud of what we build together.

I have worked at Haldane Fisher for 8 years. I started working in the yard in 2017 as a yard operative and then moved up to section leader a couple of years later. In 2023 I moved into the shop and worked my way up to being the shop supervisor. In the summer of 2025 I made the step to work with the internal sales team were i'm currently based. I enjoy helping to meet customer needs and helping to resolve any issues that arise.
