Group Health & Safety Director - Newry

We believe in our people and are committed to delivering outstanding service across all our branches. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Group Health and Safety Director to be based at our Head Office in Newry, with regular travel across NI, England, and the Isle of Man. We are looking for a strategic leader to drive our health, safety, and sustainability agenda across multiple sites and regions.

Your key responsibilities as a Group Health and Safety Director will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of Group-wide health & safety policies and procedures.

  • Conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Championing a culture of safety and wellbeing across all levels of the business.

  • Designing and delivering sustainability initiatives including carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and ESG performance.

  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to embed safe and sustainable practices.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • 10+ years’ experience in health & safety leadership across multi-site operations.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualifications.

  • Strong knowledge of international and local safety legislation.

  • Proven ability to implement and manage health and safety systems across complex operational environments.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in the builders merchanting or construction materials sector (highly desirable).

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
