Group Rebates Coordinator/Accountant - Head Office, Newry

Job description

We wish to recruit a Group Rebates Coordinator/Accountant based at our Head Office in Newry. This is an ideal opportunity to build hands-on experience and develop commercial and financial skills within one of the UK and Ireland’s leading independent merchant groups.

Key responsibilities for the role of Group Rebates Coordinator/Accountant will include:

  • Key role in the maintenance of the rebate management system and of supplier and customer agreements.
  • Review of rebate due calculations and validation of same. Reconciliation of calculated amounts to supplier records.
  • Ensuring rebates due are paid by suppliers including coordination and provision of information to appropriate buyers to facilitate rebate collection when necessary.
  • Provision of information to finance, procurement and sales teams to drive accuracy in accounting for rebates due/received.
  • Identification of value-add opportunities for maximisation of rebates due, particularly relevant to volume-based rebates and liaising with commercial teams to ensure visibility of same.
  • Input and assistance in preparing annual budget for rebate due to group companies and divisions.
  • Other rebate and non-rebate related duties that may be required.

  • Strong communication skills 
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive within a fast-paced, dynamic team environment 
  • Two years’ experience dealing with supplier transactions
  • Demonstrable experience of rebate transactions and understanding of their various inter relationships with purchase transactions  
  • Advanced IT and Excel skills
  • Experience using ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience in identifying, recommending and introducing improvements to company systems and procedures
