Group Category Support Manager (Building Materials) - Newry/Belfast
Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to manage the operational and administrative functions of the building materials category team, ensuring the implementation of smooth day-to-day processes, while providing timely support for category managers and driving reductions in aged and excess stock to optimise working capital and stock health.
The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with our branches, providing the guidance and support they require in order to increase profitability.
Key responsibilities of the Category Support Manager will include:
- Implementing streamlined purchasing processes and workflows.
- Providing forecasts and other reports to assist the category team’s decision-making.
- Leading aged stock initiatives with the focus on reducing the value of aged and excess stock.
- Assisting Price Book in ensuring data is accurate on our computer system.
- Assisting Purchase Ledger in the resolution of invoice queries.
- Leading a program of continuous improvement around category management operations.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

- Well-developed people skills.
- An organised and detailed approach to work.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to think strategically.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- A basic knowledge of building materials.
