An exciting opportunity has arisen for a remote Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills that will equip them for a successful career within the company. You will be required to grow the sales and profit of our customer ledger, and secure new business opportunities.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing our existing accounts in order to achieve and exceed sales targets. You’ll also target potential new opportunities for Prowood to engage with, with an emphasis on sales volumes, margin and profit.
You will look to develop opportunities selling a variety of timber products–primarily clear softwoods and hardwoods, machined & sawn. Influencing customer buying habits, ensuring Prowood is the supplier of choice and thinking strategically to offer customers innovative solutions and value-added sales propositions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop trusting relationships with a portfolio of major customers.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their needs and objectives
- Play an integral part in generating new sales that will result in long-lasting relationships
- Achieve sales and margin targets
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers
- Compile and analyse sales data through our BI system
- Develop and implement sales strategies through the use of our BI system
- Collect customer feedback and market research
- Attend Training Seminars as required to become expert in products, sales and marketing
- Co-operate in regular Company stock stakes
- Act all times with courtesy and goodwill towards customers and staff to promote the best image of the Company
The successful candidate will possess proven Account Management experience in B2B sales, timber industry experience is essential. The candidate should be highly self-motivated and organised, With a track record of success within an account management position. Good IT skills, and previous CRM experience.
